Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

  • Email address: Used for authentication, account notifications, and service communications
  • Name: Used to personalize your experience and in communications
  • Password: Stored in encrypted form (if using email/password authentication)
  • Google account information: Email and name only (if using Google OAuth)

Spark Submissions

When you submit ideas for analysis, we collect:

  • Idea text: The startup concept or business idea you submit for analysis
  • Submission metadata: Timestamp, analysis tier (Free/Builder/Studio), and run status
  • Analysis results: AI-generated reports and recommendations based on your submission

Important: Our AI agents receive only your idea text for analysis, not your personal identifying information (name, email, etc.). The AI analysis is performed based solely on the content of your submission.

Credits System

DailySpark uses a credit-based quota system to manage access to spark analyses:

  • Credit balance: Your account maintains a credit balance that is consumed each time you run a spark analysis
  • Free tier: Has no credit balance. Analysis features are not available on the Free tier.
  • Builder tier: Receives 25 credits per billing cycle; credits reset on your Stripe billing renewal date
  • Studio tier: Has unlimited access and is not subject to credit limits

We store your current credit balance and a transaction log of credit grants, reservations, charges, and refunds associated with your account.

Daily Drops

DailySpark features a "Daily Drop" — a curated public showcase of a selected spark analysis. When a spark is promoted to a drop:

  • The drop page (including the spark idea and AI-generated analysis) is publicly accessible to anyone with the URL, without requiring an account
  • Drop pages include the spark idea text, analysis tier, and associated AI reports
  • We do not display your name or email on public drop pages; drops are presented anonymously

If your spark is selected for a drop, you will be notified through the Service.

Usage Data

We automatically collect certain information about how you use the Service:

  • Browser and device information: Browser type, device type, operating system
  • Usage patterns: Pages visited, features used, time spent on the Service
  • Performance data: Error logs, API response times, system performance metrics
  • Session data: Login times, IP addresses, authentication events

How We Use Information

We use the collected information to:

Supabase (Authentication and Database)

  • Purpose: User authentication, account management, and data storage
  • Data shared: Email, name, account metadata, spark submissions, analysis results

  • Data shared: Email, payment method details (processed directly by Stripe)

  • Data shared: Idea text only (no personal identifying information)

Note: We send only the text of your idea submissions to AI providers. Your name, email, and other personal information are never included in AI analysis requests.

Sentry (Error Tracking)

  • Purpose: Application error monitoring and performance tracking
  • Data shared: Error logs, stack traces, performance metrics (no sensitive user data)

Inngest (Background Processing)

  • Purpose: Asynchronous job processing for analysis workflows
  • Data shared: Spark submission data, analysis workflow state

Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide the Service:

  • Account information: Retained while your account is active, plus 30 days after deletion
  • Spark submissions and analysis: Retained while your account is active, plus 30 days after deletion
  • Usage logs: Retained for 90 days for security and debugging purposes
  • Billing records: Retained for 7 years to comply with tax and accounting regulations

You can request deletion of your data at any time by deleting your account through your account settings.
